Measuring Systems

Kaman specializes in developing non-contact position measurement systems that make extremely precise measurements over relatively small ranges – down to the submicron level, smaller than one millionth of a meter. Our position measurement systems may also be used to measure vibration, speed, or pressure. We also develop systems that include temperature sensing.

As a build to print manufacturer we can provide single measurement systems as well as those featuring multiple sensors. We also manufacture measurement systems with go/no-go capabilities, like the ThreadChecker™, which offers verification of thread presence or absence in nearly any electrically conductive material.

Our systems have been widely used in sensors with a resolution to a nanometer of positional change, like those used to steer fast steering mirrors (FSMs) in space-based and airborne applications.
