High resolution Electro-Optical systems using cameras, lasers and more require near perfect stabilization. Many such systems are mounted to aircraft and other vehicles on gimbals and are subject to shock and vibration which can affect their operation. Non-contact sensors can be used to measure the movement and provide feedback that is used to smooth and cancel out the affects so that the systems provide excellent images and targeting.
Kaman’s Differential Measurement Systems, like the DIT-5200L, are designed to provide a true differential output with 1, 2 or up to 3 pairs of sensors. Sensors are precisely matched per channel to give resolution to less than a nanometer. Frequency response is 50 KHz or more. Various sensors are available depending on the measuring range and mounting type required.
